Absence of alcohol & friends leads to Doomsday! (Not really!)

Yes ladies & gents (And those others in between somewhere), it's me again and it happens to be a Friday. Now usually I'd be joking with the presents of friends & large amounts of alcohol while sat around somewhere up to no good, but unfortunately, I can't do that tonight since I used the last of my money yesterday ordering Pizza & non-alcoholic drinks, while playing Call of Duty 4 with a friend. So now I'm sat here listening to music and writing this blog, what music you ask? Yellowcard - Afraid, if you haven't heard it I suggest you find some means of doing so.
Now set-aside the annoyance of being restricted to my house, I thought I should bring up something that me and a friend was discussion over MSN a few hours ago. Think to your self, what would happen if money suddenly stopped being used, or if money had never been invented as a more effective means of trading?
If money suddenly stopped being a valid means of trade, society would crash, people would stop working as they would not earn anything at the end of the day. That would lead on to industries shutting down due to lack of workers and no imports of raw materials. This would stop fresh goods being released onto the markets: food, technology, etc. In other words, society will completely shut down. Doomsday kind of stuff.
Now, I'm not gonna go all Emo and dive into the end-of-the-world-stuff, but what do you think would happen if this tragedy became reality? What are your thoughts on solutions to something like this? Leave a comment or throw me a PM with your ideas. =]
P.S. If anyone wants to donate towards Tor[M]ents train fare, please, be my guest. =]
