GantzGantz is one of the most extreme anime releases to date. Its complex storyline combined with hardcore blood, guts and sexual content make it a must have for hardcore anime lovers everywhere. The storyline follows Kei Kurono, your typical high school kid. Kay wants more than anything to get his hands on a beautiful woman and has trouble thinking about anything else, which tends to get him into trouble. His life is pretty typical until he runs into an old friend in the subway station who is trying to help a homeless man. From this point on nothing in Kei's life is typical. Both he and his friend end up getting killed by the oncoming subway train just to find themselves created again in a room full of other recently killed people. In this room they meet Gantz, a huge black ball with digital writing and pictures that appear from time to time telling them what to do. All of the recently dead soon find themselves in a struggle for life and death as they battle it out with aliens around Tokyo. They have to kill the aliens that Gantz tells them to within the time limit, with out going outside the bounds of the area or they will be killed. If they are successful, they are brought back to the room where they are given scores showing how well they did.
The character development in this series is fantastic, complete with flashbacks and invididual character points of view. This really adds to the overall understand of who the characters are and why they act the way they do. The animation and graphics are beautiful, top notch. The music, sound and voiceovers do well to add to the overall immersement and excitement of this anime. If you have not seen this anime yet, you are missing out. This is a title that is well worth buying.
